Sunday May 30th 2010

Welcome to my first enstallment of Roadie Love.
This week I have been in York where I'm at university (not for much longer) and I've been doing lots of boring essays and work, but I have found some time to do my favourite thing, Road Testing and reviewing.

1) Watching?
This Week I have been watching: EUROVISION. Now don't get me wrong I'm not an excitable little girl craving glitter and glamour from Europes finest fake tanned performers. But I'm very patriotic.
It started at 8PM BBC 1 29th May, and to be honest...what a load of rubbish. The songs are very nice in the shower I'm sure but seriously? Britain's contender's song was in a word...awful! He paled into insignificance to the other contestants! Some of the contestants decided to strap butterfly wings to their backs which is never going to beat the skirt change of  the 1981 wonderment of Bucks Fizz, but was a pretty effort. Germany won with a very simple song, which was very nice but was about painting nails and wearing underwear which in all contexts should be done everyday! The best part of Eurovision was the good old Graham Norton commentating and I'm not sure if the three hours I wasted watching it will ever be worth it. Bit of fun? yes for children and Eastern Europeans. Britain got 10 points. Enough said.
Eurovision thumbs down with a score 2/10

2) Reading?
This week I have been reading: LA Candy by the one and only Lauren Conrad.
Lauren Conrad, or L.C. as she's known by her million close friends, was the star of the Hills, (the best programme on earth!) but is she a novelist??
The book is based on her own experiences of LA with a very boring main character called Jane and her 'eccentrically sexy' room mate Scarlett. It's an ok read but it's her first novel and you can tell, it's all about L.C being found in LA and starring in reality TV while falling out with friends and bitchy female comments. However, whether due to curiousty I did get slightly addicted to the fashion, conundrums and sunshine lifestyle of LA. But I'm not sure I'll be buying the next one L.C. Good fashion tips though hun,
L.C I'm giving you a score of 5/10

3) Wearing?
This week I have been wearing: Barry M nail polish number 309 in 'Strawberry'
Pastel shades are supposed to be in at the moment so I decided to ditch my usual red polish, and embrace the pastel tones of the season. As much this nail polish epitomises girly pastels, it's texture is so watery it takes four coats to build the proper colour but it floods your cuticles and takes an age to dry.It also chips like anything and after wearing it for 24 hours I had to update the colour and it just chipped again. It's great for a one night wonder but it won't last the week, which is what I demand for my nails.
Sorry Barry M but you result is measly 4/10 and thats just for the colour.

4) Listening to?
This week I have been listening to: the lovely Ellie Goulding
Her sound is a wondrous recipe of beautiful and mellow vocals, with some cool dancy tunes, a hint of electronica, a dash of pop and pinch of romantic lyrics. I love this album its going to be the soundtrack to my summer and I recommend her lovely CD 'Lights' to all of Britain.
Also loving the hair Ellie I give you an 8/10

5) Eating?
This week I went to eat my feelings with the fella, at York's own Oscars.
I love Oscars, I love the atmosphere, the food, the music (playlist was awesome on Tuesday!) everything. The only faults were the lack of guacomole on my chilli and the crappy sweet menu written on a receipt, but all in all a wonderful time was had.
Oscars you get a delicious 9/10

6) Using?
This week I have been using Soap and Glory's Glow Job Face Moisturiser.
While the sun was out, I felt a tad pale so bought this moisturiser with added bronzing beads to brighten up my pale complexion. I am a well known efficionado of S&G products, and although this moisturiser smells fit, it doesn't have much of an effect! sorry guys! It's a bit thin, not very 'bronzey' doesn't do much for me, although my fella did ask if I had put make-up on when I'd just put a dab on in the morning.
So for that reason S&G's Glow Job Bronzing Moisturiser gets a 7/10

7) Doing?
This week I have been doing lots of hard work involving creating playlists on spotify. Spotify is an amazingly wonderful free music happy place! I luckily managed to download it before the waiting list and before the waiting list took a lot of patience. If you already have it you must agree it's pretty wonderful, you can make playlists of lots of new tracks, keep lots of albums you can't afford to buy, listen to all types of music and share it with your friends too. Excellent. Spotify my new best friend you receive my top score of 9/10 (only nine because some of the advert breaks in between songs are slightly moronic and annoying)

Thats all this week folks, its been a bit slow, I'll see you next week dearies!
Much Roadie Love XX
